Are you a parent of at least one of the 55,000,000+ K-12 children preparing to return to school?
Are you and your children filled with both hope and trepidation at the start of this school year?
If so, read and even sing along to the Winter Wonderland tune.
School Bells Ring, Are you Listening?
In the Homes, Eyes are Glistening…
The summer’s on the wane, September’s come again,
We’re waiting for the school year to begin.
We have hope, We’re optimistic
Things will change, This year we’re ready
We try not be afraid, We’ll use the plans we’ve made
We’re waiting for the school year to begin.
In the past, we were merely hopeful,
Came the grades and we were filled with doubt,
By the time Spring came we were panicked,
We were waiting for the school year to get out!!!
But this year, we’re realistic
We’ll make time, to be a family.
We will eat some healthy meals, sleep well, not spin our wheels
Talk and laugh and help each other win.
Doing well, it isn’t magic
It takes a plan, and commitment.
To work well throughout the year,
With all whom we hold dear,
Daily we will help each other win!!!
Although light-hearted, this ditty has some powerful information for getting the school year off to a great start. Read the lines carefully and you’ll see how the information supports both Behavioral Intelligence™ at School and at Home. ********
How can you take advantage of the ideas in School Bells Ring?
Stop! Breathe out, get present to the moment.
Think! Right now, sit done and find a paper and pencil and answer this question:
What are your goals this year? What is success, what is winning this school year for you and your children?
Be specific, be realistic, be understanding and be sure to write out your answer.
To be continued…
